Mission Statement

The Museum’s Mission Statement

The museum is organized to promote, through the establishment and maintenance of a museum and allied projects, an educational program that will bring about a better understanding and appreciation of the life and times of our past president, Lyndon Baines Johnson. Our primary focus will be on the years he spent as a student at Southwest
Texas State Teachers College, his teaching experiences in the South Texas environment, and the impact of those exposures on his subsequent role in the development of legislation especially in the areas of Education and Civil Rights.

The Museum will, through its exhibits, provide an educational experience to those having an interest in the life of this individual; conduct seminars and other educational programs; and provide a forum for members to share and disseminate knowledge.
